Book Club at the Horton Hospital Library In-Person
This month we are reading Expo 58 by Jonathan Coe. This 2013 comedy-thriller sees its protagonist, civil servant Thomas Foley, dropped into an unexpected role at the 1958 World's Fair in Brussels. As Britain's identity in the postwar period becomes increasingly uncertain, and as Cold War political intrigue comes centre stage at the event, the novel flits between farce and thriller.

We are a very informal book club that meets on the third Tuesday of every month at the Terence Mortimer Education Centre, Horton Hospital, Banbury. The books we read are selected by book club attendees in rotation, and everyone will get a chance to talk about what they liked or didn't like about it. Regular attendance is encouraged, but there is no pressure to come to every session if it doesn't suit you. Tea, coffee and biscuits are provided!
