This session is part of the Reading and Writing Innovation Lab Seminar series at the Radcliffe Science Library.

This free workshop will survey the landscape of generative AI tools (going beyond ChatGPT) and their common uses in academic practice. It will focus on using AI to enhance academic work while maintaining integrity across a wide range of tasks and giving users a framework for evaluating both suitability of AI for the task in general and choosing the appropriate tool for task where AI is a good fit.  

  • What are the key strengths and weaknesses of generative AI when it comes to academic practice
  • How to evaluate an academic task for suitability to use with AI
  • How to evaluate an AI tool for suitability to a particular task
  • What are some common tasks where AI is widely used in academia
  • What are common pitfalls when using generative AI in academic contexts
